Learning Objectives & Interface Recreation
Sophi is a mobile e-commerce interface study developed during foundational Flutter coursework on Dicoding. The primary engineering goal was to master complex UI slicing, multi-tiered view hierarchies, and responsive navigation flows by recreating the rich, high-density shopping experience popularized by marketplace applications like Shopee. The project emphasizes pixel-accurate widget assembly, smooth screen transitions, and tactile user feedback across modern mobile viewports.
Architecture & Local Data Storage
Unlike production marketplace systems that rely on external cloud microservices, Sophi operates completely as a self-contained local application. Product inventories, promotional banners, category taxonomies, and merchant listings are structured as bundled JSON datasets. For persistent shopping interactions (such as saving user cart states, managing wishlists, and recording order histories), the application integrates Hive, a lightweight and reliable key-value database written in pure Dart. This architecture provides zero-latency query responses and eliminates external server dependencies during testing.
Screen Composition & Interaction Flows
The user experience replicates core mobile commerce journeys from discovery to order simulation. The home view features multi-section scrollable layouts, including promotional carousels, categorized flash sale countdowns, and infinite grid feeds for recommended items. Navigation flows guide shoppers through detailed product specification sheets, customer review showcases, and interactive cart tally calculations. By prioritizing clean widget decomposition and modular layout widgets, the application demonstrates effective state propagation and maintainable Flutter code structure without unnecessary third-party dependencies.
